Jim’s “Ultimate Subscription Box” Software

It’s no secret that exit pop-up’s used to be the best way to get subscribers, but with the advent of all the pop-up blockers on the market… subscriptions to all my newsletters had dropped off dramatically.

Frankly, I was in a panic!

But instead of sitting here crying over the fact that opt-in’s had dropped off, I decided to do something about it!

I had a programmer come up with a piece of software which I later named “The Ultimate Subscription Box!”

Bottom line: I started using this software immediately and over the course of a year, subscribers on just one of my lists grew from 9,000 to 18,000… in VERY large part to this highly effective new way to suck subscribers off a web page.

(By the way, I’ve tested this method for over 2 1/2 years… it works!)

Now, just in case you’re wondering, let me tell you what “The Ultimate Subscription Box” software is NOT:

1. It’s NOT a “pop-up”
2. It’s NOT a “hover ad”
3. Is’s NOT a “pop over”
4. It’s NOT an “html layer”
5. It’s NOT a “server side include”
6. It’s NOT a “cgi or php script”
7. It’s NOT a “java script”
8. It’s NOT an “autoresponder” (though it helps you get MORE people signed up to one!)

What it “IS” is a way for people to subscribe to your autoresponder, newsletter, mini-course, free report or whatever subscription form WITHOUT ever leaving your webpage or getting redirected to a confirmation page or pop-up!

Among other things, this means you can easily collect opt-in’s on the pages you advertise in Google AdWords without getting “busted” for using pop-up windows!

It’s insane how well this little gem has worked over the last couple of years… and continues to work for me every day!

Originally, I NEVER intended to release this software to ANYONE outside of a very close circle of my Internet friends. But then I was thinking about how I could really add value to you… how I could help YOU get the most out of your site!

The Answer: I’m giving you one of my BEST, “Top Secret” tools EVER for building your own list with the traffic you generate!

In fact, I’ve put together an entire multi-media tutorial to teach you exactly HOW to use the software so you get the biggest bang for your buck ;-)

So, how do you get a copy of “The Ultimate Subscription Box” software and the multi-media tutorial?

Simple.

Hello Jim,

Just wondering, will USB work with a WP blog?

August 25, 2006

Sorry, I forgot to thank you for the software. I have a few pages where it will work a treat.

So, thanks muchly, Jim, very much appreciated indeed. :-)

P.S. I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to do a new voiceover for my home page. But it’s coming.

Hi John,

Thank you for your note.

Because USB creates a zero frame, it will work with a Word Press blog. In fact several of the most burning question scripts on the pages (like this one http://www.thenetreporter.com/fullmembers/?page_id=320) are set up using USB. :)

You’re welcome. We’re glad that you are enjoying the software. :)

Jim, thanks for bringing this back up to the forefront for me.
As a Mini Site Creator owner from creation, I forgot that I had it and will start using it asap.
Thanks for all you do.
Larry

PS. If anyone has any doubts about getting Mini Site Creator, get it now!
If it weren’t for this course, I would still be struggling to get my first site up.

Fantastic!  I am glad that it is working and your site looks good. :)

Larry
Thank you for the wonderful comments about Mini-Site Creator. :)

Hi Jim,

I think that this software is awesome! I want to say thanks mate. I am using it right now on my website. I use Aweber for my autoresponders, and here are a couple of observations for other members who use or are considering using Aweber & USB.

Aweber does not allow you to use your own error (or oops) page. Not a biggie in my opinion, as you can still use your own success page.

When adding a success page, just be sure to make sure the check box is NOT checked for having it open in a new window.

Hope this is of use, and thanks again Jim!

Hi Dave,

Thank you for the compliment and the tip. :)

Hi Jim,
I also wanted to finally thank you for all your hard work on this site. It is great!

Also mini site creator is a jewel of a course. I still refer back to it (as recent as yesterday) whenever I forget how to do something. The chapters are marked so clearly that you can zero in to exactly what you need in seconds!

Keep up the awesome job.
Sincerely,
Liz

Jim, Mini Sire Creator got me going and I owe a lot to you for making it available.
I am a techno-dunce. And I was floundering, big time. I had more tutorials on my hard drive than you can shake a stick at. But none of them were “dumbed down” enough for me.
I’m still not a whiz, but I can do most of what I need to do because of that course.
I’m a fan.

A question on Aweber and USB.
I’ve been looking for a way to do the success or oops on aweber and can’t quite find the same thing as you have on Autoresponseplus.
Do you or any others know where to look?
Appreciate any help.
Larry

Hi Larry,

Not sure on Aweber…. you might shoot them an email and ask where in their help section you’ll find out how to set up the confirmation link and where to set up the “Oops” page (if they even have that…. I honestly don’t know)

Jim

September 19, 2006

Hi, I have already used Aweber with USB. Note you can’t use your own oops page, I emailed them about it and they confirmed this. But you can use your own success page, so here is how to do a success page with Aweber.

After logging in select the list you want in the top right. Then click the ‘Leads’ tab then the ‘Web Form Generator’ tab then ‘Create new web form’ to create opt in form. One of the fields there is ‘Thank You Page’ which is already set to Awebers default page. Replace this with the URL of your own success or thank you page.

When the form is done and saved you can preview the form and get the html code ready to copy n paste. Easy!

Hope this is helpful,

-Dave.

Right now I have the regular USB on my home page but I am interested in using the magic pop up box. I would like to have this set up on all of my pages because sometimes I will use a different page as a landing page from Google Adwords.

My question is: If I set the magic pop up box on all my pages and a visitor comes in through the home page, when they click through to another page, will the magic pop up box come up again? Is there any special thing that needs to be set so that they only get the magic pop up box one time per visit even though it is set on every page?

P.S. Thanks a lot for the USB software. It’s a Beautiful Thing!!

September 21, 2006

Hi Lori,

I’m not sure about the popup on every page… if you set it to only “appear once per session”, and use the same code on every page, it might work… give it a try and let me know… I never treied that before on multiple pages.

Jim

September 23, 2006

Hi Jim,

I can’t find where I set “appear once per session” in the USB software. I also looked in Aweber in case that’s where it was. I couldn’t find it there either. Is it in USB and I just can’t find it?

Thanks,
Lori

September 25, 2006

Lori (and EVERYONE),

I just uploaded a more up-to-date copy of the software

My personal version was newer than the “public” version

But I uploaded that latest version and you now have it to download from the link above.

This one has the option to only have the popup only appear once per session

Hi Jim,

Firstly this software is awesome and its helping me build a list. I don’t know if your aware that when using USB on a webpage, that when viewed with either FireFox or Opera browsers all you see is the html code not the form itself.

While most of my visitors use IE a fair few use Firefox. Is there a fix for this? Or has it been fixed with the latest version you have just uploaded (as I am using the original)?

Thanks,

Dave.

November 18, 2006

Jim,
Have a queston. Do you have to have your autoresponder on you hosting site or can you have your AR on your computer when you get the html information. Have some questions about AR on GoDaddy. Thanks. The USB software looks great!
dld.

November 18, 2006

Hi Jim,

The USB problem with Firefox and Opera browsers that Dave mentioned — has it been fixed?

Also, I have the original USB software from Minisite Creator. Is there any reason to download this new software, i.e., has it been updated?

November 19, 2006

Debbie, the Firefox browser problem was not an error with the software, it was my webpage. Still got it to work by pasting in the whole html code of the usb anyway.
I’d like to say a big thank you to Soosan for her support and congratulations on her new baby!!

November 19, 2006

David,

I have it set up on a separate server… I don’t recommend using an AR on your own computer.

the godaddy AR is probably not a sequential AR like Aweber, or AR+, or 1ShoppingCart.

Jim

Debbie,

Download the new version – it has a cookie function in it to limit the # of times the magic popup shows.

Jim

Dave, I’ll pass your congratulations on to Soosan :-)

Jim

Kate

I wanted to download the Ultimate Subscription Box and Tutorial but I’m getting a server not found error. I am writing this on Sunday, Oct 23 at 3:08 p.m. Pacific time.

I am hoping that this just means your server was down for maintenance as I am interested in setting up a better sign up box for a new venture I’m working on.
