Hi Jeff,
Sorry you are having trouble.
Are you using Norton for your firewall? If so, Jim found that he had to manually configure the firewall to allow verification.
Please let me know.
Soosan

No I am using KasperSky. I allowed access and when that didn’t work I turned KasperSky completely off and still nothing.
My Windows firewall was also disabled.
Jeff
From Soosan, Jim’s assistant
Sorry that didn’t work. Can you please try installing the software again?
Jim
A seriously cool tool. We’re definitely going to feature this prominently in our new Web media site when it’s launched. We’re going on vacation tomorrow and my husband is looking gloomy at the prospect of having to spend a week without playing with his new toy!
One thing that I noted is that the code for the m3u streaming link did not appear to be generated correctly although the player link was fine. I’ve only spent an hour or so on it so maybe I missed something.
Thanks again
Karen
Hi Jim,
Great software, I already have a streaming audio on my website using your software. I had to play around a bit as it is a windows server but got it to work ok.
Lots of cool features and the redirect is very good although I have not used it yet.
Well done on a great program and thanks for sharing it with members.
Kind Regards
Martin
I can’t get it to validate… I’m using norton and I’ve disabled everything and unsure what it means to manually configure to allow verification. Thanks, Trey
Looked at the videos today and am encouraged–mayabe I can do this! Of course, I do have a question:
It appears that this software could actually be used to create simple web pages, although Jim talked about using this and uploading to another program. Jim also said something about using it to create a blog. So, what are the capabilities of this software in terms of designing a website, if you don’t require something elaborate? I’m looking for a REAL simple web program.
Gary Micheloni
If you have a problem validating with Norton, you need to go into Norton and configure a rule for the software manually.
When it asks you if you want to block the program, choose the option of manually configuring a rule, then have it allow on all ports, etc.

When you get in and play with the software you’ll see that it creates a simple web page… but you can make it as elaborate as you want as far as formatting text, etc.
What I said was you can use it to create blog content that is copy-and-paste simple
You need to get in and play with it and see what you can make it do!

Hi jim i have just built this website, well i am 50 and i have only been on the internet 6 months did not know how to start a computer prior to that. Now mp 3 software i wonder can you put together an audio article when anyone clicks to read it the audio starts straight away it may be a new advertising concept.
many thanks
paul
Jim,
The software is terrific! Thanks very much for making this available to us! I have set up a couple of different audio links now and will start testing to see what works.
Just a suggestion for everyone to consider — this is a great way you can help the non-profit groups you support. Set up audio links on their web pages. There are lots of ways that audio helps to get their message across. With this software, it’s easy! And that’s a nice way to practice your skills, too — you’ll learn a few things that you can apply in your business. Generous givers are always rewarded.
Jim,
In the video you make an excellent recommendation to have an affiliate link for the the “Website Audio Secrets” course / program on our page.
However, when I go to the website, http://www.websiteaudiosecrets.com/, so that I can sign up for the affiliate program, it pulls up a page saying “Directory Listing Denied: This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.”.
Am I typing in the wrong address?
Jonathan,
This software is so new and cutting edge that we haven’t had a chance to get the sales letter up yet… we will do so in the next 3-5 weeks.
Mike Stewart and I are going to be marketing it together
We’ll definitely keep you posted!
Jim
–
Thanks for not only the software, but also the links and videos that we need to get audio on our websites.
It took me several hours to get this to work (99% of the time went to figuring out the uploading of the files, but now I know what to do), but man, is it time well invested for the long run.
Finally, after over 2 years, I now have audio up on my minisite (not that I have a DJ’s voice, or anything like that).
I’ll also be looking out for the affiliate program for the Website Audio Secrets program.
Thanks again, Jim, and everyone that helps you out.
When Jim first started talking about this software, he mentioned a couple of programs to use for the audio: Audacity, which is free, and one other, which cost $25.00. Jim used that software in one of the demos, but, darned if I can find that again! Can you help?
The thing that struck me about it was how functional and EASY is appeared to be. I have been using a Cakewalk product which is way, too complicated for me. Thanks.
Gary Micheloni
Gary,
I think the information you want is right here
http://www.thenetreporter.com/fullmembers/?p=312
Jim
Jim–
Unfortunately, I didn’t find the info there. I only found Audacity stuff. In the tutorial of yours I remember watching, you said that the software was included as part of the course. You later clarified it to the Net Reporter group to say that the software was free to the people who bought your course for $2,000, but that we could get this audio software for $25. I don’t see that video anymore–maybe you swapped it out with a new version that doesn’t reference your old course.
If you can remember what it was, I’d appreciate it, as I’d like to buy it. Othewise, I’ll just use Audacity, and stop pestering you.. Thanks!
Gary Micheloni
You’re probably asking about either SoundForge or the Acoustica MP3 Mixer software at http://www.acoustica.com
Jim
Hi Jim,
I downloaded all the files in order to make a sound byte for a new opt-in I will have under way next week and I’ve made the mp3 and streaming mp3 and will upload it with your new software and I can’t believe I’m doing it all myself! It all seemed like Chinese!!
But no more.
Thank you!
Alice
You CAN do it Alice!
Jim
Jim:
Just finished watching the videos and downloaded the product. Thank you, what an awesome tool! I’m putting a blog together on WordPress and the info about that was very helpful! Can’t wait to use it.
Thank you again!
Mike
Mike,
Bear in mind that with wordpress, you will most likely have to use Option #2 when you publish… or, you can get the Semiologic plugin like we bought, and then you can use Option #1.
I plan to do some videos later on this month to explain why WordPress is a little different….
Jim
Look forward to the WP stuff. I use it a lot for sites.
I put my first audio up today based on your template and your cool new tool.
Had some trouble with recording, I’ve never been able to get Audacity to work on my machine so I tried Wavepad. Nothing I did could get any volume; it was there but even amplified 400% it was barely audible.
I finally used Total Recorder and it worked like a champ.
The new tool works great. Had a little trouble embedding it in a web page.
Was trying to do like you do with a pic and “a personal message…” Gave up on the pic for the moment but very pleased with the tool.
Hi Jim,
Thanks for the great software!
I just wanted to clarify – if I currently own Soundforge 7.0, do I still need to use the lame encoder software and audio conversion software?
It is my understanding that soundforge will allow me to directly create mp3 files. I then need to use the audio conversion software to make the the audio files streaming – is this correct?
Thanks for the help,
David
You can create the MP3 files you need in Sound Forge… you can record them and convert them in Sound Forge… then all you need is the Audio Presentation Wizard to get them up on the web
I personally use Sound Forge 7.0 myself
Jim
Jim.
I wanted to restate how great this tool is.
The answer to this may be elsewhere and I haven’t found it, yet.
Is there any possibility in the future of doing something like this for video?
Larry,
Glad you’re enjoying it
Yes, we already have a piece of software that does exactly this for video… we’re releasing it with our new http://www.auctionvideosecrets.com course this week
Jim
Thanks Jim! I appreciate the help.
David
Jim, I’m almost to embarrassed to ask, but not quite.
I apologize in advance if this inappropriate. Feel free to remove it if it is.
I figure if you don’t ask, the answer is always “no”. It may be “no” anyway.
Since you had mentioned the new auction product, the general question is if there are any discounts available to TNR subscribers for your products?
I’m fine with the answer either way.
Larry Foster
Larry,
If you don’t ask, you don’t know
From time to time I will make products available to TNR members for free or at a discount.
Case in point, "Audio Presentation Wizard" will be a $200 program, but you got it free!
When I do a project with a JV partner it’s harder to do this, since they want to get paid
With that said, I will probably offer the new Auction Video product at some sort of a discount to TNR members… but I don’t know how much at this point.
Jim
Thanks, Jim.
Hope I didn’t come across as feeling you are “obligated” to give us discounts, because I don’t feel you are.
Any that you offer are appreciated and welcome.
As I’ve already said, you really are overdelivering here and I’m extremely happy with that.
Larry
You did not… no problem
Jim,
Thank you so much for this product. You are awesome!
It was a dark and stormy night…
Oops, wrong story.
Everything went great the first time I used the tool. I did have to go back and redo all from the beginning and then my problems arose.
I have been unable to get connected with the ftp program, regardless of what I do, including deleting everything and re doing the settings.
I did upload the files via Smart Ftp. However, I can’t generate the code without uploading the files.
I did watch the video again and noticed you promised to tell us about uploading by ftp but couldn’t find where you did.
I don’t think that’s the problem but don’t know how to get the code.
Larry
Larry,
Can you open a support ticket at http://www.ebookfiresupport.com so we can help you?
Thanks
Jim
Yes I can.
Thank you
Hi,
Is this a new one? I went through everything created the audio, and when I upload it and play it – it sounds like MICKEY MOUSE! I’m not kidding!!! Have a listen here:
http://www.thedreamtime.com/audio-files/the_dreamtime_website_intro_sliding/index.html
I even tried re-uploaded manually using Ws-FTP, this audio sounds fine opening it with real-audio player from my local desktop!
What the heck is going on here????
Any ideas?
Thanks,
-Brett
Which software did you use to convert the audio over to stream on the Web?
Brett. Do you mean you don’t sound like that? Since I think I do, I thought everyone did.
Hi Jim,
I used your free alternative suggetsions, Audacity and dbPoweramp. The weird thing, the audio sounds fine if I open it up in any mp3 player, so it must be something to do with the player?
Do you want me to try a trial of Sound Forge?
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
-Brett
Brett,
I contacted the programmers to find out what might have happened.
Try the free trial of Sound Forge and I bet you don’t have a problem…
Let me know
Jim
Hi Jim,
> Try the free trial of Sound Forge and I bet you don’t have a problem…
Is there any other way around this?
See this demo ‘test’ that works fine:
http://www.thedreamtime.com/audio-files/the_dreamtime_website_intro_test/index.html
I’m a musician and have many other audio programs around here, Cubasis, Logic Audio, Cakewalk Guitar Tracks, Magix MP3 Maker, etc, etc…
I’d prefer not to blow $80 on Sound Forge unless I have to, so just wondering if there is some setting, or some type of encoding (mp3 can be encoded using Frauhoff, Lame, and others) or something else I can look for that would fix it…
Secondly, as you can see by the second ‘test’, that works fine? So, I thought it was dropping the sample rate to 16 bit from 32 bit, but that didn’t work with the longer selection?
Does Mike has some answers? I really don’t want to drop more money when I have all of this audio software around
Thanks,
-Brett
Brett,
I’m not clear what you did on this one to make it work.
I love Sound Forge, that’s why I advise people to get it.
I’m checking with the programmer on this
Jim
Hi Jim,
> I’m not clear what you did on this one to make it work.
The ONLY thing I did was record it, then set the Samples to 16 Bit, the default for me is 32 Bit Float (I have a high end audio card – Emu 0404 card, it can sample up to 96Khz, but this has nothing to do with sample rate, just the bit-depth).
That’s it?
I’m not sure WHY that didn’t work with the OLD file, I went back to the old file, in Audacity, and changed the bit-depth to 16 Bit, then re-saved the MP3, then re-converted using dbPowerAmp, it did NOT work, got me….
Let me know what you find out…
Thanks,
-Brett
HI again,
One other thing… the ONLY difference seems to be the LENGTH of the recording, here’s what I did, I re-recorded a ‘test, test’ piece that went 2’10″ (2 minutes 10 secs) just like the one that sounds like Mickey Mouse, when I load that one up, same thing – MICKEY MOUSE!
Yet, when I load the 10 second ‘test, test’ up – it sounds fine!
I’m guessing there’s something wrong with the player software around that time length 2 minutes or so…. has anyone else had this problem, have you done any at that length?
I’m really itching to get this up, any chance I can email you and let you convert it for me using SoundForge, just to see if it works for you? I can zip/send you the .wav file if you like… I think tomorrow I’ll try loading it with Web Audio Plus, I bought that a year or so ago… but it probably doesn’t have the optmiized javascript starter in it…
Thanks,
-Brett
HI Brett,
I’ve spent a lot of time with the programmers on this.
We can’t recreate the problem…. and I’ve used this for audio of up to 90 minutes, so time isn’t the problem.
Try converting it with another program and see if that fixes it.
Jim
Hi Jim,
> Try converting it with another program and see if that fixes it.
I have, I used MP3 Maker from Magix, did the conversion, same thing, Mickey Mouse!
I’m sorry to bug you on this, but you can imagine my frustration, finally getting to audio, when I’ve purchased your Video techniques package doesn’t make me feel too good about spending further time with advanced technology – BTW – I’m a BS in Computer Science and 20 years experience, it’s not like I don’t know what I’m doing…
I’m really ticked this works for EVERYONE BUT ME! You motivated me to finally get into audio/video, now I’m the only one it doesn’t work for???
I’ve still got a few questions/ideas, and would appreciate your answer, or your programmers input, or something from Mike – any of these may help one of us solve this problem and I would greatly appreciate it…
———————————————————————-
1.) I’ll try converting on another computer, did your programmers tell you WHAT this could be related to??? If I try another online audio player package such as Web Audio Plus and it works – is it a ‘Player Problem’?
2.) If I CAN get it to work with another online audio package, is there a way that I can implement the Javascript techniques that you use into my own player, I’m assuming this is just a Javascript program, is it ok if I use that to run a different player?
3.) One reason I did NOT try the Sony Sound Forge Trial was because when I got to the trial page it said one of the limitations of the trial program was that it did NOT convert to MP3 – this is also why I asked if you could test it yourself for me… being that is the only way I can ‘try it’ with SoundForge short of blowing $150 for it, I did not find a cheaper version of Sound Forge, is there one?
Ok, I know this is a ‘long winded’ answer/request, but if you could answer any of these, or let me know further what could POSSIBLY??? cause this I would really appreciate it…
I spent a lot of time preparing my script and my audio for upload, there must be SOME WAY to make this work, I can’t imagine it’s related to anything on my local machine – and I have to assume it’s a problem with the Flash Player that is part of your package – if you know otherwise let me know, but I honestly can not believe it is related to the conversion to MP3, since I can play that MP3 locally on my own computer EVERY TIME and it sounds fine, I can also stream the MP3 from the web and EVERY TIME it sounds fine, so I have to assume it’s your flash player.
Thanks for trying to help,
-Brett
Brett,
I understand your frustration, however, this is a support issue, not a subscriber issue.
Please open a support ticket on this.
Here is an example on the site of audio using the player that is much longer than 2 minutes
http://www.thenetreporter.com/fullmembers/?p=271
Jim
Brett (and everyone),
I think the problem here is the dbPoweramp software used to convert the audio to streaming mp3. I was able to recreate the problem using THAT software.
Here’s an alternative while we look for a good free (if it exists) conversion mp3 software.
Here’s a piece of software I’ve used for 3 years to convert wav and mp3 files to streaming mp3 quality.
It’s called Diet MP3
http://www.eniacjia.com/dietmp3/dietmp3-register.asp
It’s UNDER $15! and I’ve never had a problem with it.
In fact, to prove it works with the Audio Presentation Wizard, here’s a project I’m working on with Stephen Pierce… will post in TNR later, but here’s a sneak preview
http://www.thenetreporter.com/test_stephen_converted_with_diet_mp3_sliding/index.html
As you can hear, it works fine.
My opinion and the opinion of my programmers is that something about the way db power amp converts is causing the problem… but Diet MP3 solves the issue.
We’ll keep working on it
Jim
Hi Jim,
That fixed it, thanks! I’ve submitted a ticket as Diet MP3 does sometimes add ‘swirlies’ or other sound anomolies to the mix that are not in the source file.
Thanks again, I appreciate your attention to this – I can now get back to finishing up my audio/posting it
-Brett
Hi Jim Thanks for all the videos and the software. When I’ve tried to preview the player after generating the code, there’s no sign of the player at all! Not sure what I’ve done wrong. I’d also be interested to know how you’re getting this to work in WP as I also have the semiologic theme. In particular, can the code be added to a sidebar widget? All the best, Ray
From Soosan, Jim’s assistant
Hi Ray,
Have you tried uploading and then previewing the player?
We use the adspaces plugin to get javascript to work.
Hi Jim,
I have created a series of 5 mp3 audio files (about 1 hour each) for my main product. Using the audio presentation software to upload these files to my download page, do I still need to pick a player style? I would not want customers to play the files from the download page but instead simply download the mp3 files to their own computer.
Also, you mentioned uploading all audio files to one place and then just having links from any other page to the files. Would you do the same for audio files that customers download from a purchase download page?
Thanks,
David
Hi David,
Thank you for your note.
The Audio Presentation Wizard will not allow you to have just the download links.
If you only want people to download your mp3 and not stream them, it would be more productive to just create links to the downloads on your download page.
Yes I would upload the files to one place.
Soosan
Jim’s assistant
Hi Jim,
A few quick questions… ok, I’ve uploaded audio/player, after some tweaking – you can see it (right side of screen at: http://www.thedreamtime.com) – it runs about 2mins… here’s a few questions.
1.) The player buttons (controls) dont’ display on all screens, for example I went to another laptop screen and the buttons showed, but you couldn’t see the controls, just round buttons, you couldn’t see Play, Pause, Rewind symbols, I’m assuming this is a Web Color issue, if I choose a named color (such as ‘aqua’) would it work?
2.) Wondering about the conversion on this? For example it’s been up now for about 2 weeks… I’m tracking clicks on the link below it (“seekers click here”) and only have 39 in 2 weeks, that’s probably with several hundred/day coming to the page, also, out of those 39, not a SINGLE ONE has resulted in a sale? And, I’ve reduced the cost to 30% off the normal Sale Price – so this is a good price point? No sales are resulting, is there something wrong with my script?
3.) I do NOT have it on autoplay, as I’m guessing this would be a problem for some people, I know that people visiting such pages that start playing voices/music will immediately close the window if they can’t stop the volume, what’s your opinion on that – I believe I saw that your over at fsbohelp.com is NOT on autoplay either… I’ll probably test at some point with Autoplay on – just to see…
Bottom line: from what I see so far, no additional directly trackable sales from this technique…
Your thoughts/comments appreciated…
Thanks,
-Brett

You don’t have a very good headline on that page… you need to have a bigger, bolder, more benefit driven headline that grabs people and pulls them in…. you don’t have that right now and it’s hurting you.

If the buttons are the same color as the page (or close) they won’t show up correctly.
I always suggest a white page background.
I looked at your page on two different computers… your picture in the box is too tight on the buttons and shoves them over to the right and they get cut off in the table. Split the table into two cells and Move the picture to the cell on the left so the right cell is only text and buttons

39 clicks out of how many unique visitors?
What was the conversion rate before adding the audio?
You don’t have anything that especially draws attention to the audio and no call to action to play it.
Seekers of what [benefit]? Click here for what [benefit]?
"*Seekers click here"
That isn’t a good call to action
When I listen to the audio… it’s a little long… and you’re trying to sell them with the audio… test a message that just tells them to read the sales letter.
>

There are no additional trackable sales from this technique on THIS page with THIS audio… the bottom line is:
1. you need to draw people’s attention to the audio much MORE than you do now
2. you need to test different approaches to using audio (I’d suggest an autoplay with a SHORTER message that hits benefits and drives them to reading the page)
>
>Your thoughts/comments appreciated…
The biggest thing to remember is that audio directing people to optin is the most powerful use of audio. You also need to do some other things to your site that will help you get more sales.
If you want us to do an online business tuneup of your site, just let us know

Hi Jim,
Great, thanks, here’s what I’ve done, I think I got all the changes you mentioned…
the updated page is at:
http://www.thedreamtime.com
—————————————————————————————————————–
> You don’t have a very good headline on that page… you need to have a bigger,
> bolder, more benefit driven headline that grabs people and pulls them in…. you
> don’t have that right now and it’s hurting you.
I re-worked it… after going over your CopyWriting webinar with Yanik Silver. For now, it will grab your attention, but not sure this is the very best headline, I need to brainstorm the 75 headlines as mentioned by Yanik.
> >round buttons, you couldn’t see Play, Pause, Rewind symbols,
> >I’m assuming this is a Web Color issue, if I choose a named
> >color (such as ‘aqua’) would it work?
> If the buttons are the same color as the page (or close) they won’t show up
> correctly.
No, I’ve tried the colors, it’s not that…. some Laptops do NOT display all of the full range of brightness/shadow, I believe now that is what is causing it, I’ve tried it with the Sky Blue, and now with Aqua, the laptop here STILL HAS THE PROBLEM, the symbols on the buttons need to be black (solid black), I think your symbols are a very dark grey, anyway they are not fully black, as on this laptop they do NOT APPEAR on the screen, you can see the buttons (3 small round buttons), but you do NOT see the symbols on them!
> I always suggest a white page background.
> table. Split the table into two cells and Move the picture to the cell on the left so > the right cell is only text and buttons
I did that too, you can see on the page, I still have the problem, you would need a lower gradient color viewing laptop, not sure how it’s determined but the one here I have problems with is a Acer Aspire 3000, maybe you can find one over at Circuit City and test it there?
> >2.) Wondering about the conversion on this? For example it’s
> 39 clicks out of how many unique visitors?
Roughtly 2,800 visitors, I don’t have a ‘Stats Button’ on the home page so I can not get direct traffic for that page, but this is a good guess based on what the other pages are showing, as of today resulted in 42 clicks, and zero sales
of that special offer product.
> What was the conversion rate before adding the audio?
Good question, sorry to say, I’ve not been good at tracking that, as I just now got it put into my shopping cart to track with cookies through to purchase, so now I’ll have a better idea…. but anyway, the sales are very random here, not sure if this is what you’ve ever seen before, but I can sometimes get 3 orders in one day, and then sometimes 0 readings over a period of 1.5 to 2 weeks!
> You don’t have anything that especially draws attention to the audio and no call to > action to play it.
Is it better now?
> Seekers of what [benefit]? Click here for what [benefit]?
> “*Seekers click here”

Ok, updated that to: *Get My Own Reading Now!
> When I listen to the audio… it’s a little long… and you’re trying to sell them with
> the audio… test a message that just tells them to read the sales letter.
I just tried to follow through with all the points you mentioned in your ‘Get an Audio Button Up Now’ workshop… anyway, check it now, I’ve cut it in half, and ask them to read the page and then click the *Get My Own Reading Now! link.
> There are no additional trackable sales from this technique on THIS page with

I’ve done that now…. and went to autoplay, we’ll see if it cuts down on my daily subscribers… and how it affects conversions, thanks for the tips : )

Ok, am I hearing you right? I would be better to use the audio, and say – click on that ‘Free Mini-Course’ button over there on the left and get started with your own Astrology-Numerology Mini-Course”, or ‘Click the ‘Free Readings’ button over there and get your own free sample reading right now!
That would result in more sales, eventually, AFTER they are marketed to on the followups for those? That is more powerful than saying, click here now and get an Additional 30% Off Right Now?
One other thing, here’s a sample of VERY LONG COPY for my product, do you think I should consider that for the text on the home page, instead of the shorter?
Just so you know, at one point I tested Very long copy similar to this, and nothing else on the homepage, no free readings, or anything else, it resulted in zero sales for nearly one month before I gave up on that.
Here is the long copy:

Thanks, I’ll consider it… I forgot this was available…
Thanks for your help on this, and keep on delivering all the great topics/audio/videos, I love it! Got your DVD in the mail last week, nice touch : )
Thanks again,

Hi Jim,
somehow I can not upload the files with the built-in ftp-software, even after manually configuring the Norton-Rules.
Can I somehow upload the needed files wit a different program and that get the code? Or do you know how to make the software work?
Thank you
Niels
Hi Niels,
Please open a support ticket at http://www.ebookfiresupport.com
Thanks
Jim
If you get the answer to that, please post it here.
I haven’t been able to work this out even with support help.
I suspect, based on nothing, that there is some conflict on our computers. My idea is that there are only several of us with a problem.

Hi,
I’m still waiting for a reply on this – read my long detailed post (2 replies back).
As I mentioned – your symbols on your buttons DO NOT DISPLAY on some laptops, or lower res LCD screens, it has nothing to do with color depth, I have a laptop setup at 32,000 colors and your symbols do NOT SHOW UP – as I said, your symbols are grey, they need to be BLACK!
Secondly, I’ve found very little benefit to adding audio, in fact it sales have declined, secondly your recommendation to add a big headline has also done little to increase sales on a page that see over 200 visitors/daily. I’m starting to believe that any conversion/sales increases you mention are related to B2B (business to business) sales – and not so much to B2C consumer based shopping websites, secondly my product is an impulse purchase, all of these factors influence sales, many things mentioned I’ve tried many times in my nearly 10 years online. Each market is driven by different factors – they are NOT all addressable the same way such as ‘add headline’, or ‘move sub box up’, it doesn’t work that way.
I’d appreciate your comments on that.
Thanks,
-Brett

Multiple page postes may not receive a response as it starts getting into coaching and consulting. If you want to increase your chances of a response, please keep them short and on point.

SHOUTING is a quick way to not get a response also. I will address this with the programmer.

There is no difference in human behavior whether B2B or B2C – it’s still people exposed to a sales message and making a buying decision.
People buy on needs and desires and the perception of how a product or service meets those needs based on the sales material presented.
There are many different ways to present a sales message, but it still comes down to desire and perceived ability to satisfy that desire.
Does every technique work in every case? No
Does your audio work? Apparently not, but to say that audio doesn’t work is not a good idea.
To say that headlines don’t work is not a good idea either.
You try things… they work or they don’t…. you try other things… they work or they don’t… you try more things… they work or they don’t.

I disagree.
If you sell online… you use the same mechanisms as anyone else
YOU TEST HEADLINES
YOU TEST OPTIN BOXES
YOU TEST AUDIO
YOU TEST VIDEO
YOU TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST until you’re ready to puke!
You don’t just try 2 or 3 things… you try 100 things to find the things that work.
But you cover the basics first – HEADLINE, OFFER, PRICE, OPTIN BOX

Hi Jim,

> You don’t just try 2 or 3 things… you try 100 things to find the things that work.
Thanks for the candid comments
I agree, in fact I believe I’ve already puked about 100 times… but I keep trying.
> But you cover the basics first – HEADLINE, OFFER, PRICE, OPTIN BOX
You’re right, I’ve tried many of those before, and I’ll try them again, I’ve tried pages with long copy (sales only), I’ve tried a mystical theme (with rotating images of different readings), I’ve tried the page the way it is… there is no common theme to what works and doesn’t, as you say, you TEST, TEST, TEST, TEST, TEST…. it almost seems pointless sometimes!
Maybe I’m having some frustration here, as when I hear you mention in copyrighting audio (with Yanik) that one change of headline increased online sales 400%, I guess that kind of result I’ve yet to see, but I’ll keep trying – and yes thank you for being candid – Friday Night Smackdown does have it’s place…. and does deserve to be said… I appreciate that you’re able to say it, when many times no one else is.
Whether or not there is a way to get a user to convert to sale on my homepage (in my market) is kind of tough to gauge, I’m not sure it is… from what I’ve seen this market is different than others (surprise).. anyway… I’ll keep trying and thanks for listening.
I’ll try some more different things, one thing I wonder, even with your Online Tune Ups, there is a place for this exact type of testing broken out by market place, I believe there is some use in segmenting the type of markets (service, products: hard goods, electronic, etc, etc.). This would give you an idea of what is working in your market…
Thanks,
-Brett
Jim,
Every time I come to this site it’s like Christmas – always something new and exciting to play with … like your audio creation software.
That little program is going to release me form being held hostage to monthly
hosting AND surprise band width fees that the “OTHER GUY” is ripping me off for.
Keep up the awesome work!!!
michael

Hey Jim,
Wow this looks like some Awesome software and can’t wait to start using it!
Only problem is I can get it to verify my account.
Turned off all firewalls and using my subscriber email and still nothing.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Jeff
